2026 Draft and Team Construction

The 2026 Babe Ruth Calgary AAA and AA draft will take place on February 19, 2026, and team announcements will be made no later than February 21, 2026.

We will start the draft with all returning AAA and College players first. We have 23 players in this pool.

The AAA division draft will take place next. AAA will consist of three teams, with approximately 20–22 players selected to fill rosters of 14–15 players per team. Coaches will draft players based on the needs of their roster. Some players who have the potential to compete at this level may not be selected due to limited roster spots. In certain cases, it may be a skill-based decision to allow players additional development time at the AA level.

Players not selected in the AAA draft will be eligible for the AA draft. We anticipate approximately 32 returning AA players. AA will have four teams, with 14–15 players per roster (40+ total spots). The final number will depend on how many 2025 AA players are selected in the AAA draft.

Coaches will draft based on roster needs. Due to limited spots, some players with the potential to compete at this level may not be selected. In some cases, it may be a skill-based decision to allow further development at the level played in 2025 (AA or A).

The A division will consist of undrafted players and will be formed by the Technical Director group to ensure balanced, competitive rosters.

The 54/80 division will primarily include new 13-year-old players, with a few returning 54/80 players if additional development is recommended before moving to the full-size diamond. Families will be contacted before a player is placed in 54/80 for a second season. These teams will also be balanced by the Technical Director group.

A and 54/80 rosters will be released no later than February 24, 2026. Spring Training begins Sunday, March 1. The first two weeks of Spring Training schedules will be released with the AAA and AA rosters.

We enforce a 24-hour rule regarding roster placement concerns to allow time to process before contacting us. We prefer players to reach out directly for feedback when appropriate. Emails sent on roster release day will not receive a response.

Players not offered a spot in Babe Ruth Calgary who would like feedback may reach out and we will gather information from the evaluations and provide feedback.

Thank you,
