UPDATE ON POINTSTREAK
We have recently been advised that Stack Sports, the parent company of Pointstreak, has decided to retire the Pointstreak platform on May 31. We were given very short notice of this decision forcing us to quickly pivot to look for an alternative that would allow us to provide live game updates and track detailed statistics in the same manner that we were able to with Pointstreak.
We have decided to transition to GameChanger for the 2026 Spring season and beyond. Many of you are likely familiar with GameChanger through other teams that you have been part of. GameChanger has an extremely user-friendly scoring interface, tracks 150 player stats, provides live scoring and standings updates and allows for high quality video live streaming. Scoring is done via personal mobile device and is available on both iOS and Android platforms.
Although we have until May 31 to stop using Pointstreak, we have also made a decision that starting the season using Pointstreak is not ideal, knowing that we cannot use it for the entire season. As such, we are planning to switch to GameChanger immediately, in time for the start of the regular season. We have set up all of the divisions, teams, rosters and schedules in GameChanger, and on Tuesday, we were able to successfully score our first three games.
We know that this is very short notice of the change, but we think it’s the right thing to do to ensure a consistent experience for the full 2026 season. We also recognize that a large number of volunteers have gone through Pointstreak training over the last month and been practicing in advance of the new season. Don’t worry, we believe that this time spent will still be of benefit. Although the interface is changing, the principles of baseball scorekeeping are the same regardless of platform and much of the knowledge learned in Pointstreak training will be transferable to GameChanger.
More details will follow through the Pointstreak team and the Team Admins. Please note that for the time being, the Pointstreak TeamSnap team and the pointstreak@baberuthcalgary.com email will continue to be used to contact the GameChanger admin team.
